Wild Wax Melts compete in the Company of the Year National Finals

Yesterday, our fantastic Wild Wax Melts Young Enterprise Team (Archie, Freya and Sophie) from Carisbrooke College and Medina College participated in the Company of the Year National Final. They were in the top 13 teams out of 945 from throughout the UK, from the Highlands of Scotland to Gibraltar.

After Regional Finals at the Island Riding Centre, Ordnance Survey in Southampton, and Samsung KX in London, they joined the National Finals online and were able to celebrate with parents and other guests. Whilst they did not win the final, they have finished their amazing run on a high with three ‘Best Company’ awards, separate awards for Digital, Marketing and Finance, and an active running business with new events and ventures planned in the months ahead.

Many congratulations to them all!

We would like to thank the following for supporting their journey: Tracy Osborn from Quarr Abbey as their inspirational Business Adviser; David Thornton and Mel Lewis from Ed-WISE for facilitating this programme on the Isle of Wight; the local business ‘Dragons’ who have guided and supported the team over the course of the year – Jamie Busby, Lisa Mercer, Steve Winter, Matt Jeffery, Sue Lucas and Dominic Ward; and finally Lynne Skinner, Michael Anderson and Sally Hopkins from Young Enterprise. Well done also to all of our Isle of Wight Education Federation Teams for their participation, achievements and awards within the Young Enterprise programme this year.
