On Tuesday 2 July, we hosted our annual awards evening in school. The sportshall was unrecognisable as staff had worked incredibly hard to transform it into a space fitting for the prestigious evening event.
Head of School, Miss Begley, started the proceedings by welcoming everyone and congratulating the students on their success. It was very difficult to choose winners this year and each and every student in the room fully deserved this recognition of their efforts.
Mr Lyle and Ms Peckham, as joint Master of Ceremonies for the evening, welcomed faculty staff to the stage as each group of awards were presented. Richard Bridgford, Chair of Governors, kindly presented the students with their awards. The staff who nominated the students read a citation for each winner as they received their awards; a lovely personal touch.
Throughout the evening, over 100 students received awards which included individual subjects and year group awards, sports team of the year (Year 10 Football Team), sports club of the year (Dressage and Showjumping) and three whole school awards; Endeavour (James C), Progress and Achievement (Jessica A) and the Head of School’s Award (Luca G).
There were musical interludes throughout the evening where our talented student musicians impressed the audience with the high standard of their performances. Thank you to Mia P, Rowan H and Annelise H.
We love to celebrate our students’ successes at Carisbrooke College and feel immensely proud of our young people this year. Well done to all of the deserving award winners and thank you to all of the staff involved in organising and running this event.
